Yesterday, President Obama declared that the economy is “not as bad as we think.” This is incorrect. And who is this “we”? What is more accurate is that the economy is “not as bad as you said.”
With a trillion (that’s a 1 with 12 zeroes after it – even before the decimal place!) dollars recklessly spent before anyone even had a chance to read through all of the earmarks, it is clear that whatever happens, he is covered. When the economy bounces back on its own then the President is a brilliant strategist and our savior. If it takes longer, then it is all Bush’s fault anyway. The use of the word “crisis” every day for months has swayed a lot of people into allowing Big Government to become even bigger and more powerful by creating more and more debt and even more dependence on the government.
Yes, the economy will recover – despite all of the government intervention and wild spending. It just may take a lot longer now that everyone has seen how much of our money the President and his accomplices in Congress are willing to squander.
