Eat More – Lose Weight!

Overweight Americans are always looking for a better way to lose weight. Here is a new bold idea. Eat more and more food. It sounds crazy, but if you eat more and more food, bigger portions and more meals, you will lose weight. Don’t listen to those stupid people who say that the way to lose weight is to cut back on what you eat. That idea has been largely discarded by an overwhelming consensus of scientists. There are however, some skeptics who have trustingly engorged themselves as part of the “Diet of Hope” that are complaining that they are not losing any weight at all. Rather, they are in fact quickly building more and more flab. Don’t be so pessimistic! Of course you will lose weight, it will just take some time, that is all. After all, look at how long people have been on the “old fashioned” diets and look at how much weight they have lost! This will not be easy, but you must keep eating, eating , eating. In fact, if you find that you are not losing weight on this “Diet of Hope” it is only because you have not been eating enough.Try eating more and you will, in time, lose weight. Just don’t expect it to happen over night.
A fire breaks out in a house. The local fire department responds with the intent of squirting water on the fire in order to extinguish it. But why do that? New studies show the folly of that strategy. If you look at all of the fires in America and add up all of the damages, the cost is astronomical. And, as it happens, these were fires that in most cases, were extinguished with water. Could there be a better way to put out a fire? Most experts now know that the best way to put out a fire is to throw flammable materials on the fire. This sounds crazy but it works. As of mid-November, fire departments across the country will be prohibited from using water or other traditional extinguishing agents to fight fires.
“Putting dry newspaper, pine needles – or even flammable liquids such as gasoline on a fire is the new way to fight fires,” says a bureacrat at the National Fire Center of Hope and Change in Washington. “It sounds counter-intuitive because the fire will in fact appear to be growing, but don’t jump to conclusions. All we ask is that you give it a chance to work. We have a right in this country to safety from fire. The old way of putting out fire was quaint but ultimately, it was out of step with mainstream America. To be fair, this is a new technique so give it some time and you will see that it will work — I can feel it.”
Ridiculous stories? Yes. So why would anyone think that the way to economic prosperity is to spend money that you do not have? Why should productive people be forced to pay the unproductive? Even the promoters of this policy of tax and spend can see that it does not work. We are unconvinced that with more time and by spending more of our money against our will, you will eventually have this plan work. We are convinced that less tax and less spending is the key to economic prosperity.
